- K-State researchers develop materials to lower operating temperatures of fuel cell and hydrogen production technology
Chuancheng Duan, assistant professor in the Tim Taylor Department of Chemical Engineering, and his team of researchers in the Materials Research Laboratory for Sustainable Energy and collaborators have developed a breakthrough in the race to develop commercially scalable and high-performing protonic ceramic electrochemical cells for efficient power generation and low-cost hydrogen production.
- Edgar receives Iman Outstanding Faculty Award for Research
James Edgar, university distinguished professor of chemical engineering, is the receipient of the Iman Outstanding Faculty for Research Award sponsored by the K-State Alumni Association. The ceremony will take place Sept. 7 at 4 p.m.

The Environmental Protection Agency has announced that the Center for Hazardous Substance Research at Kansas State University will receive a $23 million grant to expand its Technical Assistance to Brownfields, or TAB, program that works to revitalize environmentally distressed properties. -

Duan to receive $1.2 million in DOE funding for pair of research projects to reduce methane emissions
The U.S. Department of Energy has announced that Chuancheng Duan, assistant professor in the Tim Taylor Department of Chemical Engineering at Kansas State University, has secured $1.2 million in grant funding from the Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management for his work, which focuses on methane emission reduction. -
K-State chemical engineer Won Min Park receives NSF CAREER award
Won Min Park, assistant professor in the Tim Taylor Department of Chemical Engineering at Kansas State University, has received a $550,000 National Science Foundation Faculty Early Career Development Program award, known as a CAREER award, to develop a simple, modular and versatile technology to direct the folding and assembly of protein biomaterials using a molecular version of origami. - Duan to receive grant for co-generation of liquid chemicals and electricity from natural gas
