Wales, Amama and Schlup Faculty Engagement Award Recipients
Michael Wales, Placidus Amama and John Schlup recently received the Faculty Engagement Award from the Multicultural Engineering Program. The awards were presented at Multicultural Engineering Program ceremonies April 12 honoring graduating seniors, acknowledging support of faculty and staff, and recognizing student leadership.
Wales commented on receiving this award:
"I was surprised and honored to win this award. I enjoyed participating in outreach activities organized by the K-State Office for the Advancement of Women in Science and Engineering (KAWSE) and the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE). My door is always open for students to stop by. I would like to thank LaVerne, Sonya and Thurman at the Multicultural Engineering Program (MEP) for everything they do for the students, and for allowing me to participate in their events."
Amama commented:
“I have truly enjoyed partnering with MEP to excite and expose K-State students and elementary school teachers in Kansas to nanotechnology and its potential applications.”
